Our Instructors and Staff

Flight School 4 Kids associates with and referrs to independent practitioners who have skills needed to implement the CAFE program. Students will be guided to engage the best associates to meet their budget and learning needs. All practitioners are welcome to join our list of associates, as long as they are appropriately qualified.

Rene Thomas Folse

ReneOur chief psychologist and one of our flight instructors is Rene Thomas Folse, JD, PhD. Rene has licensed in California as a psychologist since 1989. His focus has been on remediation of disabilities for children and adults.

He has been a licensed pilot since 1981, and added an FAA Part 107 rating as a Remote Pilot – with a small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) rating in 2016 soon after the FAA adopted rating regulations for unmanned aircraft (drones). Rene has held several California teaching credentials, has taught full and part time for the public and private sectors. He is certified in Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment tools, Level 1. He also holds a certificate in Assistive and Adaptive Technology Applications from CSUN.


Susan Baukus

Susan Our chief behaviorist is Susan Baukus. Susan has years of experience as a behavior, social and life skill facilitator and former supported living program manager. She is a driving force for people who have developmental disabilities in her community. There is a saying that "it is a great deed to change the course of one person's life". Susan hasn't stopped at one, and says "when you know the path, why not show others the way?" And she has, having worked with hundreds of children and adults.

Susan continues to expand the possibilities for people who have developmental disabilities in her community and to expand the possibilities for her community to embrace, employ and enjoy those members of the community who have special needs.
